CORRADO MARIA DE SANTIS – TRESHOLD OF LIGHT

Corrado Maria De Santis is an Italian guitarist who previously released four solo albums on different labels: Midira, Owl Totem, and Lost Tribe Sound. Treshold Of Light is his second album on the Lost Tribe Sound label as a part of their 2026 album series ‘Moss & Melee’ (see also this post about Daniel Jolan’s Sublime Lenteur).

As a guitarist, he ‘combines the raw spontaneity of improvised guitar with computer-generated sounds, crafting captivating sonic landscapes characterized by ambient drones and electroacoustic textures.”
As such, the sound of the guitar is hardly noticeable in the music on this album.

Treshold Of Light obviously refers to ‘the moment when night has begun to recede, yet morning remains unseen, a space suspended, uncertain, and quietly charged’.
The track titles invoke the atmosphere of that moment: Fading Nightfall, Awakening Skies, Nocturnal Lull, Morning’s Veil.
Through the music (subtly mastered by Ian Hawgood) this moment of day can almost literally be felt.

As always, the album is not only available as part of the subscription series but also separately, as download and on CD.
