We’re talking to Karl from Chrome Calibre about Chronography, a brand-new watch show taking place on October 10 at Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin, one of the city’s historic 16th-century theatres. The event brings together more than 20 watch brands and exhibitors, with names including Fortis, Vertex, Christopher Ward, Nomadic, Doxa, Oris, Farer and Moriarty Watches, alongside Irish watchmakers and independent brands such as McGonigal. There’s also a full programme of talks and presentations in the theatre, new-watch launches, a magazine, a charity raffle supporting breast cancer research, and a live recording of the podcast. We get into how Carl put the event together, why he wanted to create something that would give Irish collectors access to brands they normally only encounter online, and the wider goal of putting Ireland’s own watchmaking talent in front of a much bigger audience.
