Huawei is still leading the GlobalData 5G RAN competition in 2026. The tech giant has appeared as the sole leader in the latest ranking for its advanced 5G RAN solutions and related innovative products. Notably, it’s the company’s eighth year as a winner.
GlobalData recently published its 2026 5G RAN Competitiveness Assessment report, in which Huawei stood at the top. The tech giant has maintained its top slab for eight consecutive years with top-grade solutions and mature commercial cases.
The report has evaluated RAN equipment tech makers across five aspects. These are:
- AAU – Active Antenna Unit
- RRU – Remote Radio Unit
- Millimeter Wave
- BBU – Baseband Unit
- Advanced Software features
Among all these categories, Huawei has ranked first, demonstrating its high-end products in different scenarios with leading network performance. The latest result not only reveals the OEM’s leadership but also its achievements in network capacity and deployment efficiency, green and low-carbon development, and long-term evolution.
MetaAAU or AAU reveals that the company leads across all scenarios in terms of broadband and multi-frequency, as well as helping operators evolve their networks with stronger performance and higher deployment efficiency.
Huawei has also launched the industry’s only U6GHz Massive MIMO that supports 256T256R and 1500+ arrays. It has upgraded the full-band GigaGreen RRU, optimizing its weight, power, and energy efficiency to increase revenue and reduce costs.
EasyAAU and HAAU set a new benchmark for millimeter-wave technology. Huawei’s BBU is also in a leading position. All these factors show Huawei’s proactive efforts in the commercialization of 5G-Advanced capabilities.
