Huawei Mate 90 series to get two new display upgrades next week
Huawei Mate 90 series will likely debut next week, and while its launch date still requires an official announcement, a new leak suggests that the flagship can bring two significant hardware-level display upgrades – and it’s not about Privacy Screen technology!
Weibo tipster @FixedFocus noted that the Huawei Mate 90 will get two new display upgrades next week. These don’t list Privacy Screen or 10000-nit peak brightness, but a new dual-layer OLED technology and third-gen Kunlun Glass combination.
This fusion can even cancel out the need for tempered glass on the Mate 90 smartphones’ screens.
Starting with the display tech, the tipster said the new Mate 90 series will use a “Linglong screen”. This could be the same anti-reflective screen debuted with the Pura 90 Pro Max, which works as an extra layer of safety on the main display panel.
It could happen that Huawei will pair the dual-layer OLED with its new anti-reflective solution that not only reduces screen reflectivity but also increases its durability.
Debuted this year, Huawei’s new anti-reflective screen technology is also capable of preventing damage from high drops, scratches from keys, grit, and more.

On the other hand, the company could implement the Kunlun Glass 3.0 on the Mate 90 series display panel. It is a specially engineered and highly durable glass-ceramic material designed to protect smartphone screens from external impacts.
Even though the tipster hasn’t mentioned the exact upgrade points of the 3rd-gen Kunlun Glass, he said the new solution will increase drop resistance several times.
Neither Huawei nor the latest leak provides clear details on this subject. But it seems we don’t have to wait much longer to hear out official information on this subject. Stay tuned.
