Huawei MatePad Edge 2-in-1 tablet joins HarmonyOS 7 beta pool
Huawei has recently launched the HarmonyOS 7.0 Closed Beta program for its top flagship devices, and in the latest scenario, the MatePad Edge 2-in-1 tablet is joining this software testing pool to explore some high-end capabilities in advance.
As noted by a HarmonyOS analyst – @Adak on Weibo, Huawei has started HarmonyOS 7.0 closed beta recruitment for the Huawei MatePad Edge 2-in-1 tablet.
The company has included three MatePad Edge variants in the HarmonyOS 7 software testing with a specific baseline version. The list includes the following models:
- QXS-W00 – 6.1.0.135
- QXS-W10 – 6.1.0.135
- QXS-W20 – 6.1.0.135
MatePad Edge 2-in-1 tablet users can apply for the new beta program in just a few simple steps. Open the Settings app on your device and select Software Update.
Now tap on the top right corner of this screen and click on the “Upgrade and Trial Process” banner. Once done, fill in your details accurately and follow the on-screen instructions. Review it once and hit the Submit button given below or on the next page.
After the submission, the company will take 7 business days to review your application. If selected, you will get confirmation through an SMS or email notification.
Before proceeding, make sure that registration is done through a Huawei account. Once approved, all devices under the same account that meet the requirements for the upgrade trial event can try out the HarmonyOS beta version.
Note that being a beta version, it can be unstable and lead to certain issues like overheating, battery draining, app freezing, and more. Besides, you may face data deletion after the new installation. Hence, ensure a complete backup of your data beforehand.
