Haunting Halloween Home Decor – JENRON DESIGNS

Boo Y’all thanks for flying today to see our Haunting Halloween Home Decor Tour!

This year I may have been inspired for a front porch mainly by my new wreath sign for wayward cats and familiars. I also will be adding in a cute light up ghost on a swing but it was raining to much last weekend to hang him up so maybe after homecoming this weekend we can put him out and I will add the photo to this post.

My pumpkin color theme this year is all shades of orange; light orange, burnt orange and a true orange. Then I popped it with a dark rich hunter green that looks like a Frankensteins head in the bright sunlight. I added in just a few of the yellow and green stripe pumpkins for visual interest.

Orange lights in the leave garland on the steps and around the door add just a touch of ambient lights at night. Along with the two cat glow molds for that vintage Halloween vibe. Of course the coffin will come out on Halloween night as it is our gift bag candy bowl and thee kiddos love it. It hold 50 bags at a time and we run through around 150-200 bag every year. Complete with a drink, full size candy bar and movie snack like: popcorn, Ring Pops or a Pez dispenser. Yeah we keep it cool over here. Not to mention the glow necklaces because safety first and our street has some sketchy drivers…..

Here is a quick look at my Halloween table and sideboard since it is always of interest. I grabbed these fun plates at Pottery Barn this year to go with the Ghost theme and they look great on the black Southern Living plates.

I made a cute little garland out of some Trader Joe’s knit leaves I grabbed last time I was in the store and adding in some fun wooden Temu scarecrows that got sent to me accidentally. Yeah I am not sure they will move forward but I figured I would tear them off the twine and tie them on something pretty…now I know that it’s all hot garbage but for a $1 I made into something I guess. I also found the cute ghost candle sticks at

I also found the cute ghost candle sticks at  Scotsdale Farms when Ron and I went on our last adventure and brunch date. Again all in the ghost theme I have planned.

So here is a fun question I was asked, how many colors have those pumpkins actually been? Well last year they were:

Spooky Southern Blue & White Chinoiserie

You can see I painted them to match some pillows on my bench I found over at Amazon:

The Great Pumpkin Theme

For this theme I went with the “basic” all orange pumpkins and scattered them about with with my metal pumpkins which I painted groovy gold. It was my “Great Pumpkin Porch” with the focus on all orange and metallic golden pumpkins. I chose dark blood red mum’s for the season and added in orange twinkle lights and harvest leaves, since the leaves here do not bother to change colors until November.

The Flying Purple People Eater & Mortuary Theme

A few years ago I did a creepy mortuary theme using all purple and white pumpkins, called my Flying Purple People Eater Porch. Then I covered them all with ravens. I even put a full sized casket on the front porch with a skeleton popping out!  You can click the title link above to see more details about this entire theme, including where I purchased the casket.

Beware Of The Spiders

Back when we were first invaded with Joro spiders I felt like there was a theme hatching, so I quickly added them to my Apple Picking  eerie Frankenstein green and spooky white pumpkins. Gigantic cobwebs and enormous spiders every where. Sacks of nests hanging from the ceiling and drippy dead wreath filled with spiders on the door.

The Birds

This porch was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, I covered the porch with dead branched and crows painted the pumpkins a copper color. I made the front door look like a the iconic blue phone booth, which was confused for Dr. Who by a few of our neighbors. I turned our skelly into Tippi with the iconic green dress and blonde wig, and put birds all over her as if they were “picking the bones”.

Fall Home Tour, Falling In Love with Rose Gold

When Rose Gold was all the rage, I painted my metal pumpkin “rose gold” aka copper and paired them with a mix of fall colored mum’s orange, purple, and red. The year I used an assorted section of red, purple, yellow and orange. However I decided to keep the pumpkins all in the the orange and golden yellow tones since I felt like the white would just be to stalk with the rose gold. It was a really pretty set, very fall.

Farm Fresh Halloween

This was one of my favorites, because my sweet husband built me the wheel barrow wagon you see on the porch for my farm fresh harvest. You see I could not find one I liked, a typical theme in my life, so we had to build one that was suitable. He was actually injured at the time, in a sling, and built it with one arm believe it or not. I had this little cart as a deer feeder up until this year, when a tree fell into it during the tornado and shattered it, which broke my heart. This was also the first year I had the galvanized pumpkins before I started to paint them various colors every year, so the very original color.
