Huawei MateBook Pro S notebook will make a record in terms of a laptop’s weight, but apart from its ultra-light design, the device is bringing six “first-time” technology upgrades to the table. Let’s take a look at these changes one by one.
MateBook Pro S has started garnering attention right after its first leak, which claimed it would be the lightest laptop in the market with just 798 grams of weight.
Following the leak, many netizens even said that the upcoming notebook is equivalent to two Apples when it comes to weight. Although the Huawei MateBook Pro S has up to six major upgrades that are worth your attention!
1. 798 grams – lightest laptop in the world
While Apple MacBook Air weighs around 1.23kg, MateBook Pro S break the record with its 798-gram lightweight design. All thanks to its materials – the company swapped the internal components with a magnesium-lithium alloy this time that reduces the weight by 25%, and thickness by 17%.
2. 500% improved deformation resistance
MateBook Pro S is the first notebook to use a mortise and tenon join structure which enhances its resistance towards deformation by 500%.
3. 10% silicon + 15% higher battery energy density
Huawei revealed that the upcoming S-tagged laptop uses the industry’s first 10% high-silicon battery. The particular cell capacity solution has a high-silicon anode that increases the energy density by 15%, while thinning it by 10%.
Despite being a super thin and lightweight laptop, the company has managed to install a significant battery pack to the device that will maintain the battery life within limited room.
4. Quad-antenna design and Wi-Fi 7+
MateBook Pro S is the world’s first PC to use a quad-antenna design along with Wi-Fi 7+ support. Describing the strong connectivity of the new laptop, Huawei said:
“for the first time, a thin and light laptop has achieved ‘kilometer-level’ ultra-long-distance network connectivity.”
5. Cooling fan with 102 blades
Huawei has used a powerful aluminum fan for the MateBook Pro S. It is the first tablet to use this robust cooling solution. The fan measures 3mm in thickness and carries 102 ultra-dense blades which are even thinner than a phone’s fan tech.
6. Smallest motherboad
Details reveal that Huawei has integrated the smallest 3-section motherboard in the MateBook Pro S notebook. Interestingly, it can easily fit in your palm and still holds 2000 components. It is 30% more dense, with 40% lighter design over the previous solutions.
