REVIEW: Falling for Peachtree Bluff by Kristy Woodson Harvey
Welcome back to Peachtree Bluff, where the air is getting cooler, pumpkin spice is back, and the Murphy family is still finding plenty of ways to keep life complicated.
FALLING FOR PEACHTREE BLUFF by Kristy Woodson Harvey is set in the cozy coastal town of Peachtree Bluff. Caroline, Sloane, Emerson, and their mother Ansley are each dealing with their own relationship and family challenges, but as always, none of their lives exist in isolation. Through weddings, marriage problems, pregnancy, family secrets, and unexpected second chances, the Murphy women have to figure out when to step in for each other and when to let each other find their own way.
I was ALL about the fall atmosphere in this one. The coastal setting, small-town charm, cooler weather, family gatherings, and that whole stretch from Labor Day into the holidays made this such a cozy seasonal read.
The sisterhood was probably my favorite part of this book. These women can drive each other absolutely crazy, but when one of them needs help, everyone shows up. I loved the way the story explores that complicated balance between supporting the people you love and knowing when you need to let them make their own decisions. Nobody in this family has a completely drama-free life, but they also never have to face those problems alone. And Ansley’s storyline adds another layer to that family dynamic as she starts questioning whether the man she has loved for so long is really the person she thought he was.
There are several relationship storylines woven throughout the book, but Caroline’s situation definitely caught my attention. She’s suddenly looking at both her past and the possibility of something new, and I liked that her storyline wasn’t simply about choosing between two men. It’s much more about Caroline figuring out what she wants after spending so much time putting everyone else first.
FALLING FOR PEACHTREE BLUFF was a cozy return to one of those fictional families where everyone has an opinion, everyone knows everyone’s business, and somehow they always show up when it matters. I loved the fall setting, the Southern charm, and especially the bond between the Murphy women. Add in relationship drama, family secrets, second chances, and all the cozy Peachtree Bluff vibes, and this was exactly the kind of book I wanted for fall reading.
