Honor 700 series rumored to use 1.7-inch back screen

Honor has recently unveiled the new Digital smartphone series with a magnetic rear display. It looks like the company has already started upgrading this dynamic part for the upcoming Honor 700 series and may introduce a 1.7-inch back screen.

Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation revealed that a brand is testing a new slim camera phone with a 1.7-inch back screen, and it is speculated to be the Honor 700 series.

Since the Magic 9 series is also making a buzz in the news for using an AI-based magnetic back screen technology, the tipster mentioned that the new phone with a native rear display won’t be part of the flagship lineup at the moment.

These hints suggested that the new phone lineup mentioned in the leaks is the Honor 700 series. But besides the rear display, the tipster didn’t disclose any other details.

For comparison, the Chinese tech giant launched the first “innovative” magnetic detachable secondary rear screen accessory for the Honor 600 series in May 2026.

According to the official details, the secondary screen enabled users to preview their selfies and control the main camera to manage groupfies and other imaging features. It can also act as an ultra-portable fill light with four levels based on skin tones.

Moreover, Honor 600 series phone owners can utilize the back screen accessory to show off their favorite anime characters and celebrities anytime.

Some other features of this magnetic screen include customized widgets to support personalized interactive layouts and dynamic content or to use certain applications.

Notably, the size details for the particular rear screen are unclear at present. Although the upcoming one could measure 1.7 inches. Whether the company will add more features to the new accessory or will continue to integrate the same functions remains a mystery.
