Well, THIS is fun. I’m in BUSTLE Magazine!
And the topic makes me laugh because, for most of my life, if you’d asked whether I’d rather spend a weekend with five men or five women, my answer would have been immediate:
Men. Every time.
So how did this lifelong tomboy—who quit her sorority and was never much of a joiner—end up spending 17 years hosting writing retreats that became almost entirely women-only?
Writing changed my mind about women.
Or maybe women changed my mind about women. 
This piece is about resilience, creativity, the surprising things I’ve witnessed around the retreat table—and the sisterhood I’d spent way too much time avoiding.
