The absolute sourness on display as the teams enter outdoor terrace and pool week is unedifying to say the least.
Watching Courtney and Sev win over and over would be annoying but the levels of mean girlness it drives Jolene and Lisa to isn’t pleasant to watch.
At issue is the fact Courtney and Sev got three perfect tens from the judges for their kids’ room and redo room, in their case their living room to which they added a number of elements from Adam and Jolene’s winning living room, including an identical fireplace and a mirror wall (albeit a dark one with panelling).

Jolene is determined to find every flaw in Courtney and Sev’s 10-scoring room.
Jolene is spitting chips not only for the copying but the fact she didn’t get a perfect ten for her version.
“What p****s me off is they got three tens for a redo room. We didn’t even get a ten
and it’s done so much better. It’s a bit s**t from the judges,” Jolene says.
“An interior designer copied someone’s winning room and gets three tens,” Lisa spits.
Sev is well aware of what’s being said, likely thanks to her mole Chantel letting her
know what was said in the share house while Courtney and Sev were out.
“It was always our intention to put in a fireplace and a mirror wall. It was only until Scotty came in and told us we could only spend $15,000 that put out those fundamental things,” she says referencing living room week when she and Courtney had been read the riot act for overspending. “They can tell themselves all they want that we copied them. She’s not the first person to slap a mirror on a wall, let me tell you that.”
Lisa is also losing her mind about the fact the judges said she and Rosco would have been in line for a ten for their kids’ bedroom and redo guest suite if they’d only painted a small strip of skirting board, noting that Courtney and Sev last week got two tens for their laundry and rumpus, which also featured some unpainted skirting.
Lisa on the length of unpainted skirting board that cost her a perfect 10.
In any case, today’s opportunity to inspect one another’s rooms sees Adam and Jolene and Lisa and Rosco going over every brushstroke in Courtney and Sev’s room pointing out every flaw. Even Rick is annoyed when he sees a section of unpainted ceiling, something he’d been penalised for in an earlier judging.
Chantel and Wyatt are on team Courtney and Sev, and point out that in her redo room Lisa had copied their bedhead and colour palette.
It all makes for a tense start to the week – with Jolene still whining on about Chantel and Wyatt not doing dishes – culminating in the world’s most awkward losers’ dinner, hosted again by Chantel and Wyatt.
Jolene whining and wining.
As soon as they leave the house to go to the gym the remaining teams start gossiping about Chantel’s rich-lister brother-in-law, not realising Chantel and Wyatt are actually standing just outside the front door being interviewed by a producer.
Never one to let an awkward moment pass, Tayla dashes out to confess they’ve all been speculating that Chantel and Wyatt’s house already has a ready-made buyer, and Chantel plays along, telling Tayla that her brother-in-law is locked in to pay $1 more for their place than anyone else spends on the other houses to secure them the win.
The whole day is made even tenser by the fact a number of teams are out of cash with three weeks and enormous outdoor areas to go.
Luckily Scott Cam throws them all a bone in the form of an extra $50,000 each, which means Rick and Tayla don’t have to send home their landscaper, and Courtney and Sev have enough cash to put in a stadium if they feel like it.
