Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott Hotels’ loyalty programme, occasionally offers promotional pricing to sell points. The current “Buy Marriott Points with a Bonus ” promotion is a tiered bonus-points offer from Marriott Bonvoy that may help someone who plans to buy points.
Buy Marriott Points with up to 55% Bonus.
Marriott Bonvoy is now offering a bonus on Marriott Bonvoy Points purchases until November 23, 2026. To qualify for the top end of the promotion, you must purchase at least 2000 Marriott Bonvoy points in a single transaction.
Marriott Bonvoy has also raised its cap on the points that could be purchased in 2026. The limit has been increased from 50,000 points to 100,000 points. For this promotion, the limit has been increased to 200,000 points. With a 55% bonus, you could buy 302,250 Bonvoy points for USD 2,437.5 or 0.81 cents per point (INR 0.77).
It may take up to 72 hours for the purchased points to be posted. Additionally, if you are a new member, you can buy points 30 days after enrollment, provided you have completed a qualifying activity. Marriott also allows you to share up to 100,000 points per year, so if you need more points, you can purchase them in the name of a sibling, partner, or parent and then transfer them to your account.
Is it a good idea to buy Marriott Bonvoy points?
I’ve advocated buying points because redemption stays are usually exempt from the tax requirement, in addition to the cost of the stay. Redeeming points for premium properties is often cheaper than paying cash. As a result, you can get significant value from your Marriott points at many properties. Additionally, Marriott Bonvoy offers an excellent opportunity to convert points to airline miles at a 3:1 ratio.
Take the example of this established resort, one of India’s most popular Marriott properties, for the New Year recently. The cash price was INR 128,500 (excluding taxes) and INR 151,000 (inclusive of taxes). The total came to INR 120,000 for five nights, with no additional taxes.
Buying miles and using them for your stay can earn you a 30-40% discount. This approach will be more effective for hotels priced in USD and Euros; however, given the extremely high prices in India, many Marriott resort properties there should also offer exceptional value.
Here is a live example of someone who used points to receive a substantial discount at a high-street hotel during a previous 50% bonus sale, which lowered the price of points.
Ok so thx @LiveFromALounge for this.Just booked New York Marriot Marquis. For cash the room was $2322 for 3 nights.Bought 100,000+50,000 Bonvoy Points for $1250 and transferred 41,400 Amex points (30% bonus) so got 53,820 total 204,000 something. Booked this room for 203,000 pts. https://t.co/ZZe76KtWXx

Which credit card should you buy Marriott Bonvoy points with?
Typically, these point purchases are processed through Points.com, rather than directly by the hotel or airline. However, you will almost always pay in USD/EUR/GBP, not INR. So the best cards to earn a bonus are the Axis Olympus, HSBC Premier, or American Express Platinum Charge Card, as these offer an international spending bonus. Beyond these, consider any card that offers a reduced foreign exchange conversion rate or helps you meet minimum spend requirements.
Bottomline
Bonvoy points can provide outsized value in many situations. However, this is a good offer for Bonvoy point purchases. If you also have cards that offer a bonus on international purchases, you can earn even more points.
So, will you buy Marriott Points with a Bonus?
