I was completely new to Sein Macey, but listening to “Looping” had me sold. Like instantly.
“Looping” is the Manila-raised Swedish-Filipino musician’s first release in many months. It finds him reveling in his creative freedom.
Sein is gifted with a velvety vocals and soulful sensibilities. His music is an amalgam of alt-R&B, jazz, funk and soul, with “Looping” being the perfect illustration.
“From the instrumentation to the feeling of the song itself, ‘Looping’ is about navigating hope and that space between thinking something is worth it before realising that maybe it’s not so much,” Sein explains. “Ultimately, it’s about putting hope on the wrong pedestal and questioning how long you’re willing to stay in that cycle.”
You’ll absolutely love this song. Personally, I can’t get enough of it — I’ve had “Looping” on repeat for days.
