Free Printable Apple Puppets and Apple Counting Song
These free printable apple puppets and apple counting song make a great circle time activity, and a fun way to work on language and counting skills at home or in the classroom.
With five colourful apples that are easy to turn into puppets or use on a flannel or magnet board, and a printable song words poster it’s easy to sing along and count the apples with your kids!
Preschoolers and kindergarten kids will love singing this fun apple counting song and acting it out with the apple puppets. My kids favourite part is always shaking the tree!
Print the apples and tape a craft stick to the back of each one to make them into puppets. You could also add Velcro dot and use them with a flannel boar, or add a magnet and use them with a magnet/whiteboard.
You can also use these apple puppets with lots of other fun apple songs, or to act out apple themed stories too.
Singing the Song.
To act out the song as you sing hold up five apple puppets (for a group activity choose five children to stand up and hold an apple). When you sing each verse shake all the apples, then choose one to fall from the tree. Count how many apples are left and then sing the next verse.
Kids can also sing along with hand movements – hold up five fingers for the tree full of apples, shake your hand when the wind blows, point and trace one finger as the apple falling down, then pat your stomach to show it was good.
