Pakistan vs Bangladesh Women’s Cricket: Pakistan Wins Asian Games 2026 Bronze Medal by 31 Runs
The women’s cricket team of Pakistan has managed to clinch the bronze medal in the Asian Games 2026. This has been possible as they beat Bangladesh by 31 runs and avenged their previous defeat against Bangladesh at the Asian Games 2022 (conducted in 2023 because of the coronavirus outbreak). Bangladesh managed to win the bronze medal against Pakistan by beating them in the Asian Games 2022, while this time, Pakistan won the bronze medal from Bangladesh. In the innings of 20 overs, Pakistan batted first and scored 145 runs with the fall of 8 wickets.
Captain of Pakistan Fatima Sana won the toss and opted to bat first, and it was the right choice that she made as her batting lineup performed well for her. The opening batsmen of Pakistan, Shawal Zulfiqar and Gul Feroza, made 46 runs for the first wicket and kept Pakistan wicket-free during the powerplay. The dismissal of Gul Feroza in the seventh over ended the good run for Pakistan. After her dismissal, the wickets started falling one after the other as Pakistan lost 5 wickets for 67 runs. Shawal Zulfiqar and Ayesha Zafar also departed.

Riaz scored 25 runs off 22 balls, while captain Fatima Sana scored 45 runs off 30 balls, hitting three fours and three sixes.
Chasing a target of 146, Bangladesh had a disastrous start. The team lost its first wicket at 12, and by 20, three wickets had fallen. Bangladesh held onto their wickets but failed to score, resulting in a mere 114 for 7 in 20 overs, falling 31 runs short. Thus, Pakistan won its first Asian Games bronze medal. Sharmin Akhtar remained unbeaten for Bangladesh, but her 46-run innings proved ineffective.
