Marvel is heading back into the cold this December with another round of winter festivities.

Following last year’s Marvel Winter Break Special #1 and the return of the Marvel Swimsuit Special, Marvel Winter Break Special 2026 #1 will bring together winter-themed pinups, new stories, and plenty of Marvel heroes dressed for the season. Ryan North, Christina Strain, Javier Garrón, and Pete Woods are among the creators joining the celebration.

This time, the Marvel Universe is ringing in 2027. The New Year’s Eve special will feature heroes dressed up for the occasion alongside a collection of winter looks from Marvel artists. Two new stories will also be included, with one setting up something fans probably didn’t know they needed: Wolverine organizing an Avengers vs. X-Men hockey game.

Yes, apparently the next great Avengers and X-Men showdown will be settled on the ice.

Marvel Winter Break Special 2026 #1 arrives in December, with a main cover by David Nakayama. Marvel also plans to reveal a new lineup of Winter Break variant covers in the weeks ahead.
