A while back I contacted the managers of the two movie theaters I patron every so often. I explained that I have diabetes, and that, while I would like to have snacks while enjoying a movie at their places, I can’t really consume what they have to offer. I let them know that I generally do buy a water or unsweetened tea from them but asked if it would be okay if I brought my own snack. They agreed to this arrangement.
While my sister takes pity on me and allows me a couple of bites of her movie theater popcorn because I LOVE it, the rest of my snacking comes from what I make at home. You can’t even buy a small popcorn at our local theater anymore, and the kids pack come with soda and candy.
I previously shared a movie theater trail mix with you, and today I am going to share another.
Movie Theater Trail Mix #2
Serves: 1
3/4 filled quart size baggie of popped corn
1/4 cup unsweetened dried fruit
1/8 cup sunflower or pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
Notes
- If I have any on hand, I will add some monk fruit sweetened chocolate chips to the mix.
- This size is perfect for munching on during a movie. You can make more or less according to your own needs.
- I do not eat popcorn hardly ever. But it is a nice treat once in a while.
Do you have to bring your own treats to the movie theater due to health concerns? Please share what you bring.
