We thank McCoy and colleagues1 for their interest in our study2 and for highlighting the important challenge of balancing cardiovascular and bleeding risks in patients with liver disease and cirrhosis. In response to their suggestion, we explored whether INTERBLEED could support the proposed subgroup analyses. Only 238 participants had liver disease and 51 had varices; event numbers within these subgroups were insufficient to obtain stable multivariable estimates, and the exploratory models did not converge.
