Earlier today, the Huawei Mate 90 series was leaked in live images alongside a promotional poster showing the October 1 launch date.
The promo poster shows a new green color around the circular camera bump and new vertical stripes touching its edges. The poster also says “Huawei Mate90 series”.
The design glimpsed in the teaser looks identical to the live images. So, this could be true based on the appearance. However, the suspense persists around the official launch as we’re less than a week away from the leaked date.

Here are a few things you should know.
It’s not the first time Huawei has remained so discreet about its new flagship phone. In fact, it is following a unique pattern of device unveiling. For example, the Mate 60 series entered limited sales before its official release under the “Pioneer” program.
Since then, Huawei has been focusing on immediate launches and in-person promotions through offline stores rather than relying on online promotions.
Another example is “Blind reservations”. In-store visitors already had a chance to book a Mate 90 series phone before the online store. So, the wait time we are seeing above is for online customers, but local buyers have already placed their order for one unit.
So, Huawei is creating hype better than ever, and the October 1 launch date for the Mate 90 series seems legit. Still, a week-long warm-up period would have been better to create excitement.
Design leak
Huawei Mate 90 Pro series will return the Mate 60 Pro’s unibody Xuanwu architecture with a shock-resistant center frame and an exterior back plate.
The design is known for its dual-tone materials. The separate glass panel and the bottom part have a metallic finish as part of the frame. Unlike the Mate 60 Pro, the glass features vertical and horizontal stripes rather than being plain.
This panel design is adapted for the silver and black colors. Meanwhile, the round camera design continues and is powered by the XMAGE imaging system.
