Art Encounters: “Picasso en visite” (17th of September 2026 – 17th of January 2027), Timișoara – https://artencounters.ro/en/
The exhibition includes art works from Musée Picasso, Antibes (curator Jean-Louis Andral) and presents one distinct chapter of Picasso creation, related to the period that he stayed in Antibes. There are 69 art works – paintings, drawings, lithographies, ceramics – all talking about Picasso favorite themes, from Mediterranean imaginary to mythology and symbolic animals, from his atelier to his muses and portraits. Plus: a beautiful film with the artist, a very very interesting one. The audioguide is available in 5 languages and the catalogue is bilingual (Romanian & English). ArsMonitor – “Iconoflux” (3rd of September-22 of October 2026) – arsmonitor.ro
The exhibition: brings together works by Horia Bernea, Florin Mitroi, Ion Dumitriu, Mihai Sârbulescu, Alexandru Chira, Bogdan Vlăduță, Gili Mocanu, Anca Mureșan, Ciprian Mureșan, Șerban Savu, Diana Popuț, and Eva Chapkin. Looking from the present toward the past, the micro-selection of artists highlights multifaceted typologies of the sacred-profane antinomy. Art Safari – a new season (18th of September – 20th of December 2026) – artsafari.ro
The exhibition: 5 big pavilions & 4 others interesting themes are here, at Bucharest, in the new season at Art SafariMuseum. “Brâncuși and his muses”, curated by Doina Lemny – over 200 artworks (movies, photographies, letters, sculptures, all telling the story of the great Romanian artist and the women that were his muses). “Pop Art” curated by Alexandre Eram – from Andy Warhol Factory to works by Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, but also an interesting story about Ileana Sonnabend, the promoter of American art during the 20th century. “War and Peace” curated by Dragoș Vărșăndan. Cristian Mungiu. Fjord, photographies on the beautiful set of the film that won Palme d’Or (18 September – 1st of November 2026). “New Climate: are we ready?” – about the extreme meteorological situations that we are forced to live in. IOMO Gallery – “Mircea Roman 1/50” (September 17 – October 4, 2026) – https://iomogallery.com/
The exhibition: includes 50 new drawings by Mircea Roman, marking the launch of the catalogue documenting Lupta schimbă gustul cărnii, his solo exhibition held at the gallery in autumn 2025 and curated by Horațiu Lipot. the catalogue gathers the seven sculptures of the exhibition, among them its monumental centrepiece, Jacob’s Fight with the Angel. Critical and biographical texts place the works in the arc of his practice.
Lea Rasovszky – “I Met You Later in Life” at Art Encounters space, Timișoara (10 September – 10 Oc tober 2026)
The exhibition includes 8 new installations exploring motherhood, femininity, and vulnerability. A traveling exhibition that begins in Timișoara and continues in Bucharest. “I met myself later in life.” This sentence from the Lea Rasovszky‘s journal serves as the starting point for Lea Rasovszky’s latest solo exhibition, curated by Diana Marincu.
Gaep Gallery – “Wild Metaphysics” (18th of September – 24 October 2026 – https://www.gaepgallery.com/
The exhibition presents 6 Brazilian artists (Thiago Barbalho, Maria Nepomuceno, Mariana Rocha, Guga Szabzon, Marina Woisky, Michel Zózimo) who explore the extraordinary, the oneiric, and the metaphysical. The exhibition delves into cartographies of the imagination that extend beyond physical spaces, creating singular universes in which the boundaries between reality and fantasy become porous. Mira Bucharest – “Between Earth and Table” by Ioana Moldovan (9th September – 18th of October)
The exhibition: a photography exhibition by Ioana Moldovan, a documentary photographer, photojournalist and writer. This time, her camera turns towards something seemingly ordinary: food. It follows the journey from landscape to plate, looking at the places, people, work and rituals behind what we eat. It’s a story about sustenance, but also about climate, tradition, belonging and the quiet relationships between people and the environments they depend on.
MARe – “Imagini ale istoriei, istorii ale imaginii” (Images of history, history of images), 10th of September 2026, 24 of May 2027 – https://mare.ro/
The exhibition offers a journey through modern and contemporary Romanian art, grounded not in the succession of generations or styles, but in the transformations of the image itself. Spanning from the historical avant-garde and post-war experiments in abstraction to contemporary painting, photography, sculpture, object-based art, installation, and video, the project traces how the image shifts its status, functions, and capacity to generate meaning.
Art Encounters Space – Rebeca Ulici “Affordable Consolations” (11 September – 11 October 2026)
The exhibition brings together several of the series she has developed over the past two years, while also presenting two new installations created specifically for this show, in which ceramics encounter other textures such as velvet, satin, and hair.

Beta 2026 proposes a shift in perspective: from architecture as representation to architecture as practice. Beta activates the city as a space for work and encounter, where architecture is not only exhibited but directly explored through interventions, installations and dedicated programs. This year’s edition places emphasis on what already exists: buildings, spaces, contexts, and on how these can be reinterpreted and transformed through action.
