RIYADH — The National Center for Inspection and Oversight announced the issuance of the National Framework Policy for Inspection Activities, establishing a unified national framework aimed at making inspections more consistent, transparent and efficient.
The policy provides a national reference for inspection activities and aims to unify the procedural framework used by regulatory authorities, while taking into account the mandates of relevant government entities.
Its key objectives include developing and sustaining the regulatory system, improving consistency, transparency and efficiency in inspection and oversight, and strengthening awareness among establishments to help them understand regulatory requirements and improve compliance.
The policy is based on five guiding principles: awareness and compliance; a risk-based approach; consistency and predictability; transparency and fairness; and impartiality and integrity.
It also outlines the main stages of inspections, from planning and preparation to implementation, follow-up and completion of related procedures, with findings documented based on objective evidence.
Awareness and practical education for private-sector establishments are also considered an essential part of the inspection process, helping businesses understand requirements and improve compliance without affecting the impartiality of inspections or their outcomes.
The National Center for Inspection and Oversight is an independent entity, organizationally linked to the Council of Ministers, that coordinates inspection and oversight efforts among government entities.
