Depot After Dark: See McCarthy Get Game Ball, Golic Upset About Angry Runs, Jets Add Jordan Clark To Roster

SEE MCCARTHY GET GAME BALL

The Steelers started the season 1-0, winning at home over the Atlanta Falcons. It was extra special for Mike McCarthy for multiple reasons. Not only did he win his first game as the Steelers’ head coach, but he’s also a Pittsburgh native, so he likely lived out a dream in Week 1. That earned him a game ball.

The team shared a behind-the-scenes video of that moment on Twitter. McCarthy credits the team for the win and tells T.J. Watt to send them off, but Aaron Rodgers stopped everyone and gave his head coach the game ball. It’s an incredible moment, and it looked like it meant a lot to McCarthy.

GOLIC UPSET ABOUT ANGRY RUNS

Darnell Washington only had two catches in Week 1, but he made them count. His second catch helped the Steelers seal the game, and he dealt out a punishing stiff arm on Atlanta Falcons safety Xavier Watts. However, that play didn’t earn Washington the Angry Run award for the week. NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt instead gave it to Washington Commanders safety Tyler Owens.

Mike Golic Jr. took umbrage with that. The Golics posted a video on Twitter of Golic expressing his frustration with Brandt for not giving the honor to Washington. He even jokingly challenged Brandt to an MMA match. It shows how much people liked Washington’s play. Hopefully, it won’t be the last time Washington is up for the award this year.

JETS ADD JORDAN CLARK TO ROSTER

Ryan Clark didn’t start his career with the Steelers, but he had a great tenure with them. He played for them from 2006-2013 and helped them win a Super Bowl. Now, his son, Jordan Clark, is looking to create his own NFL legacy. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent last year, signing with the New York Jets. He played in six games last year, but he started this season on the Jets’ practice squad.

The Jets recently promoted Clark to their active roster, though, as they posted on Twitter. They started out this season with a win, and now Clark will try to help them keep stacking victories.
