Known for his enthusiasm and ability to explain complex positions to the audience, Hess is one of the most beloved commentators in the chess world. With events like FIDE World Championships, Candidates Tournaments, Speed Chess Championships, and others on his resume, Hess is ready to elevate TT’s broadcast and deliver the show fans deserve.

“Titled Tuesday is the biggest weekly event in chess, and we know how much fans have missed watching it live,” said Chess.com’s Events Commissioner, Michael Brancato. “We’re thrilled to bring it back, especially with a commentator as beloved as Robert Hess returning to host it.”
The return of the broadcast is just one of the many recent additions to TT that make the tournament more important than ever! Here’s a breakdown of everything you need to know about this new era of Titled Tuesday:
Increased Prize Fund
Since June 2, TT’s weekly prize fund has increased to a whopping $10,000. With this bump, the event’s yearly purse exceeds the half-million-dollar mark, giving players another opportunity to earn significant money from home.
The new prize structure awards top finishers with $7,500, including $2,500 for the winner. The remaining $2,500 goes to bonus prizes distributed among different categories.
More Points For Esports World Cup Qualification
TTs are now more important than ever for players looking to qualify for the Esports World Cup.
Last year, players competing in TT had a cap on how many Champions Chess Tour Leaderboard points they could accumulate during each Split of the Titled Tuesday Grand Prix. Now, the Split structure is gone, with players accumulating points throughout the year. With this new structure, players who consistently finish at the top of the TT standings can accumulate hundreds of CCT points—now the only way into the Esports World Cup through the Champions Chess Tour.
