Dubai opens new Al Qudra bridge cutting travel time to 1 minute
Getting around Al Qudra just got a whole lot easier… Dropping from just 7 minutes to 1 minute
Dubai has opened a new four-lane bridge at the intersection of Al Qudra Road and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, helping to ease traffic and cut waiting times for motorists.
The new 700-metre bridge is part of the Al Qudra Road Development Project and is designed to reduce delays at the busy intersection from almost seven minutes to just one minute.
That means less time sitting in traffic and more time getting where you actually need to be.
The project has also increased the road’s capacity from around 7,800 vehicles per hour to 19,400 vehicles per hour, an 85% reduction in waiting time.
The new bridge serves traffic travelling along Al Qudra Road towards Al Qudra City.
It also completes the main traffic layout at the intersection, following the opening of the opposite bridge in February for motorists travelling from Al Qudra City towards Umm Suqeim.
The upgrades are expected to make getting around the area smoother for around 400,000 residents, including those living in Arabian Ranches, Mudon, DAMAC Hills and Dubai Motor City.

Dubai to build 31 new pedestrian bridges by 2030
A huge 730-metre pedestrian and cycling bridge crossing is coming to Dubai-Al Ain Road.
The bridge will connect Liwan (Wadi Al Safa 4) with Dubai Silicon Oasis, creating a direct link between two fast-growing residential communities. At 730 metres long and 5.6 metres wide, it will be one of the largest pedestrian and cycling bridges in Dubai.
The bridge is being designed for pedestrians, cyclists and e-scooter users, helping residents travel between the two communities without relying on a car.
Another major project nearing completion is a 554-metre bridge at the Tunis Street and Al Nahda intersection on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.
Once complete, it will connect Muhaisnah 1 with Al Twar and provide easier access towards Al Mamzar Beach.
A third pedestrian bridge is also being built as part of the Al Mustaqbal Street Development Project and is expected to be completed in early 2027. Read more about it here
