MagicOS 11 to deliver 2x improved smoothness over previous version

Honor has started the MagicOS 11 closed beta program and tipsters are now looking into the new testing version, checking its smoothness, UI elements, and operational fluidity. The upcoming software iteration claims to deliver more seamless experiences over the previous version.

Weibo tipster @FixedFocus stated that MagicOS 11 is coming soon with a dual architecture that will increase its smoothness by two times over the previous version.

The tipster further mentioned that the Luminous (Flowing Light) architecture will lay the groundwork for unified rendering. It will combine with spatio-temporal rendering reuse and optimize GPU algorithms for smoother and easier performance.

Spatiotemporal rendering reuse is a graphics technique that recycles light and shadow calculations from nearby pixels (spatial reuse) and past frames (temporal reuse).

It reduces the number of rays needed per pixel, making realistic real-time illumination. This method uses less power, speeds up rendering times, and cleans visual noise.

As a result, UI elements like animations, app launches, swipes, and more remain smoother at all times. The architecture also ensures that exquisite animations don’t drain the device’s battery.

On the other hand, the Hummingbird architecture in MagicOS 11 focuses on system-level scheduling to provide a user-centric experience across the entire product lineup.
