The Worksheet on International Numbering System helps students learn how to read, write, and compare large numbers with ease and accuracy. The International Numbering System is used in many countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and several international organizations. In this system, commas are placed after every three digits from the right, and numbers are grouped into place values such as thousand, million, billion, and trillion.
Understanding this system builds a strong foundation in place value and number naming skills. It also helps students interpret large numbers found in newspapers, population data, scientific research, and financial reports. What is the International Numbering System?
The International Numbering System is a way of writing and reading large numbers used in many countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. It places commas every three digits from the right to make numbers easier to read. Place values include ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, millions, billions, and trillions. For example, 5,678,912 is read as Five Million Six Hundred Seventy-Eight Thousand Nine Hundred Twelve. It differs from the Indian system, which uses lakh and crore instead of million and billion.
