The design intent behind Beton House was clear: create a home that feels grounded, private, and calm while remaining visually open and connected to its surroundings. Concrete was selected as the primary structural element for its strength and timeless appeal, but without timber, the space risked feeling cold and rigid.
The introduction of vertical timber battens softens this hardness. Rather than acting as decoration, the battens function as a spatial filter, shaping how light, air, and privacy move through the home. This approach creates a layered façade that changes throughout the day, casting subtle shadows and adding depth without visual clutter.
