Quite a week to end on the backlog front. After Monolith Soft coaxed me into giving XC2 upgrade another thought or two, I ended up begrudgingly shelving much of the offloaded backward-compatible stuff not just towards MOMO’s first video game appearance since Gen 7 at the cost of ten bucks and over twenty gigabytes of frixel ballast but also the entirety of XC3 in wait for its own December patch because a new hero with a new quest is on the table, and I have all the reasons to suspect Monolith Soft will rope me in again, especially as Iro and Masha were already awesome. It only helped to grow comparatively more optimistic about the NS2 storage situation after the local retailer I got the 256 Gb SanDisk from rolled out the same brand’s 512 Gb option – no more squinting at the sus marketplace offers! But what of the newly vacant space on Switch – was it really yellow-taped off in wait for Kingdom Hearts? Weeeeeeell, would anyone here believe me if I said yes? The pack in question is still an October release with no comprehensive filesize reports beyond NS2’s 54 Gb, and as it came to the recent sales and releases instead…

Now I’m back to some 2 Gb of external memory but with Minoria, Helvetii, Donut County, Scribblenauts Mega Pack, Outer Wilds and Blue Reflection Quartet onboard.😳😆 And I still had 10 Gb to ponder either more of the hybrid splurge items like Date Everything, Suhoshin and Spacebase Startopia or some of the older backlog pieces like Slay the Princess, Death’s Door and Inscryption… but ultimately ended up reinstalling Tales of Symphonia instead. Needless to say, all the aforementioned [re]downloads are shaping the hybrid section of my weekend gaming appetites and potential indulgements this time, alongside some other stuff from G9-based Agarest War, Borderlands 2, Skyrim, 13 Sentinels, Yoku’s Island Express, Harvestella and one or multiple Personas to G10-based Cyberpunk, Arise, Fallout 4, Factorio and Blue Prince. As well as Doom 3 with its almost finished main campaign and Pillars of Eternity – as The Lost World promo slogans went way back when, “something has survived”.😏😃
Regarding the other platforms, getting a newer R4 flash card had me hopeful about resuming Unwound Future, but the save data remains volatile when engaging with actual puzzles; if rewriting the rom itself onboard doesn’t fix the issue either (memory card formatting is long off the checklist), I’ll have to bite the bullet and start over after all. Eh, parsecs from the worst video game experience to have to retrace, I suppose.😄 Deck is beckoning with some time to spend in FFXIII/XV, Xenosaga, Nights of Azure and State of Decay, but I’ve also found myself promptly installing Sol Cesto from Epic’s new giveaway – the new roguelite looks quite intriguing yet remains a PC exclusive so far. Some God of War, Omega Labyrinth and restarted Exile’s End on Vita, some NTE and Resonance Solstice on mobile… and a likely dose of PS4 after procuring the used physical copies of the delisted Driveclub and Gran Turismo Sport – whose seller I will also be contacting again later after spotting and reserving a Fitness Boxing card among his offerings. Told you this has been quite a week.😆
