This is in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. There was 3 straight days constant northerly winds of 25 mph, gusting to 50 mph. Lots of beach erosion and some homes were lost into the ocean. It was painful to be at the beach with the blowing sand. This image is looking south into the mist. Notice the repurposed Christmas trees in the dunes that are used to try to lessen the erosion. These dunes were breached at high tide, but not nearly as much here as in other parts of the Outer Banks.
