15/12/2020; Christmas is over by now already, but I’ll share this photo and story anyway. 🙂
That the sky brightens up at the end of your workday, so you grab your camera gear after work is done, and you rush your way to the Amsterdam city center, only for the sky to become cloudy again when you’re well on your way.
You do notice there’s barely any wind (a rare occurrence in Amsterdam), so you’re going to the first of two locations you have in mind. Sky is completely grey by the time you’re there, but the canal provides a good reflection, so alright…
Then you doubt whether or not you should still go to your second location, you’re already not feeling it very well anymore. But you’re in the neighbourhood now, so you may as well. And that you then stumble upon this gem of a bike that makes you forget about that crappy sky straight away. 😀
Set up camera and tripod, only for the one boat that was active in the entire Canal Belt to come sailing by. G’bye, reflection… so you have to wait for 15 or so minutes before the calmness is back in the canal, and right at that moment, some bright spots rear up in between the clouds.
Long story short; even when Mother Nature tends to hate you, luck will be on your side (or most of the times anyway) if you continue to push for it. 🙂
