In what’s becoming an annual tradition, French-language horror cable channel Frissons TV is adding two new titles to its L’heure Manga block this October. Goblin Slayer and Devil May Cry will start airing beginning October 11th at 7PM. The series mark the first new titles for the block since Cowboy Bebop and Steins; Gate in October 2025.
Directed by Shin Itagaki, Devil May Cry is Madhouse’s 12 anime adaptation of Capcom’s video-game series of the same name. It originally aired between June and September 2007 in Japan, with Dybex initially releasing the series on DVD across French-speaking Europe in July 2008.
Goblin Slayer is an adaptation of Kumo Kagyu’s ongoing light-novel series of the same name. Directed by Takaharu Ozaki at White Fox, the first season ran for 12 episodes between October and December 2018. It was followed by a theatrical film, Goblin’s Crown, in 2020. A second 12 episode season, directed by Misato Takada at Liden Films, was broadcast between October and December 2023. The first season was simulcast across French-speaking markets on Wakanim and ADN. Follow-ups were made available on Crunchyroll. All The Anime released the first season and film on home video with a French dub in 2021.
L’heure Manga made its debut on January 13, 2019. Operated by Montreal’s IO Média, Frissons TV launched in Quebec on September 1, 2017.
