Narayana Schools Students Help India Secure Joint Third at IOAA 2026 with Three Gold Medals

Three students from Narayana Schools won gold medals for India at the 19th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) 2026, held in Hanoi, Vietnam. The medal winners are Akshat Srivastava from Gurugram, Pranjal Dixit from Hyderabad and Sumant Gupta from Mohali.

The students were part of the five-member Team India. The team’s performance earned India a joint third place among teams from 64 countries, alongside Vietnam’s guest team, according to Narayana Schools.

The IOAA is an international competition for school students focused on astronomy and astrophysics. It tests participants’ subject knowledge as well as their analytical and problem-solving skills.

Narayana Educational Institutions Director Dr. Sindhura Narayana said the three students’ medals were a moment of pride for the school and the country. She credited their dedication and preparation for their performance at the international competition.

“We are incredibly proud of Akshat, Pranjal and Sumant and their outstanding achievement at the IOAA 2026,” Dr. Sindhura said. “Winning three Gold Medals as part of the five-member Team India is a moment of immense pride for Narayana Schools and for India.”

The school said the students’ achievement adds to its students’ record at national and international Olympiads and competitive examinations, including JEE and NEET (UG).
