Barolista: Empordà Notes – Part V

The fifth part of my Empordà tasting, this time with two wines from Arché Pages and one from Clos d´Agon.

2019 Cartesius, Arché Pages

The blend of this wine is a interesting one – according to their website it is 43% Grenache, 30% Merlot and 14% Cabernet Sauvignon – a total of 87%… – I wonder what the rest is? 🙂

Anyway, the nose is earthy and fine with notes of plums, red apples, garrigue and wet dogs. Very, very good.

The taste is medium bodied and warm with notes of moist tobacco, red plums and fried herbs. A nice structure.

2022 Amic, Clos d´Agon

An open, juciy nose with notes of dried strawberries, road dust and fresh herbs.

The taste is young and seedy with notes of ginger bread, iron and a balsamic note.

87p   (tasted 2026/09)

2021 Bonfill, Arché Pages

A blend of Grenache and Carignan. The nose is high and intense nose with notes of sweet/sour plums, garrigue, tobacco and scorched earth. Very fine.

The taste is tight and dark spicy with pure, black fruit, silky tannins and a long, layered finish. Lovely fruit.

92p   (tasted 2026/09)
