The Jaipur Police Commissionerate has laid down clear guidelines as regards the issuance of challans against traffic violators. According to the Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal, no authorized official can give his user ID to another person to issue challan for the violation of traffic rules. Disobeying the instruction shall lead to departmental action against the concerned officer.
In Order Number 342, dated October 1, 2026, the Police Commissionerate has instructed that head constables and above have been authorized to issue challans in different police stations and also in traffic branches.
As per the order, it has come to the knowledge of the police force that some authorized officials share their user IDs with the constables who then issue challans using the said user ID. Considering the matter irregular, it has been clarified that an authorized official should never under any circumstance share his/her user ID of the challan system.
The Police Commissionerate has warned that departmental action will be taken against anyone found violating the order. This means that the authorized officer will now be directly responsible for the user IDs issued for challans.
