Maruti YMC Electric MPV India Launch: e Vitara-Based EV, Expected Range and Key Details

The biggest producer of cars in India, Maruti Suzuki, is planning to roll out a new 3-row electric MPV by the end of this year. The electric MPV, nicknamed the YMC, was last spotted testing in India and is scheduled to make its debut in the country by the end of 2026. Here, we look at its possible design and features.

As per media reports, the platform of Maruti Suzuki YMC will be the same as the one used in the E Vitara. The E Vitara comes with the skateboard platform, and it is rumored to have the same batteries and powertrains as the E Vitara. But, owing to the fact that it is bigger in size, its range might be lower than that of the E Vitara. The range of the E Vitara is 543 km (ARAI), whereas the range of the Maruti Suzuki YMC is 470 km.

A test mule of the Maruti Suzuki YMC was spotted testing under heavy camouflage. However, spy images have revealed several design details. The prototype has a straight front end and a slightly squared-off overall shape. It is expected to feature eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs and the first set of LED headlamps.

The side profile reveals aerodynamic wheels and OVRMs with integrated turn signals. A wiper is visible at the rear, and reflectors are placed at the bottom of the rear bumper.
