Spooky season is officially upon us, and we’re also back to the Formula 1 racing tumbling out of the mid-afternoon window with a return to Malaysia for the nominal Bahrain Grand Prix. We might not like the reasons why we’re back here, but it is nice to have a great race circuit on the calendar.

In the News This Week

Let’s get into this week’s gaming news:

Giveaway

There’s not long left before our book giveaway of Playing With History ends at 8PM tonight. It’s a lovely print edition that Jim and Ade put together, compiling many of the Playing With History features that Ade has produced over the years, and added to it.

Games in Review & Featured Articles

Alas, Gears of War E-Day and Ghost of Yotei: Complete Edition review code only arrive for us at the end of this week, so we’ll be dishing out our scores and verdicts when we’re good and ready. That’s OK, though, because there’s plenty of other games for us to review and talk about!

Star Wars Galactic Racer – PS5, XSX|S, PC – 9/10 (video review)
Minecraft Dungeons II – PS5, XSX|S, NSW2, NSW, PC – 8/10
Transport Fever 3 – PS5, XSX|S, PC – 8/10
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered – PS5, XSX|S, NSW2, PC – 8/10
Theropods – PC – 8/10
Qliphah in Providence’s Shadow – PS5, NSW, PC – 5/10
DreamEcho – PC – 4/10

Beyond the reviews, Nick shared his thoughts on Monster Hunter Outlanders, coming away impressed by the mobile game adaptation. I, meanwhile, explored Elta: Defy All Gods, which blends brawling combat with a metroidvania and a brushed art style.

I also checked out the dogged co-op shooter action of Gravhounds for last weekend’s playtest, and Aran pondered where could a Star Wars Zero Company sequel go next?

We wrap up with What We Played featuring Star Wars Galactic Racer, Silent Hill: Townfall and Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse
