Two or more? When Father, Son, and Holy Spirit agree, you have it already. And they do agree, most of us just don’t understand the person and work of the Spirit.
While God created everything and put Jesus over it all, after He was crucified and declared it finished, Jesus went into hell, releasing those in paradise and disarming the devil.
So, he no longer has the. keys of death, hell and the grave, Jesus does. Remember, Adam gave him the power on over the earth at the fall. Jesus, called the second Adam, was the only one who could redeem humanity and still, we have free will.
We can choose what we think or believe, and ultimately heaven or hell, we have to realize what a sacrifice He endured to give us access to the Father. We are not holy or righteous, only through Him.
So, Jesus ascended to heaven and on the Day of Pentecost, sent the Spirit to indwell believers. We receive a measure of the Spirit at salvation. John said that Jesus would baptize with fire whereas he baptized with water. While we see the water, we do not always see the Spirit at work.
But He is the powerful third person of the Trinity and is tasked with searching out the deep things of God. It is He who guides, comforts and protects. Holy angels are in His realm.
We see evidence of His peace, protection, and presence. Even if we think our prayers are un heard or unanswered it isn’t true. God works ways we don’t see, although the Spirit may give dreams or visions, various gifts including tongues and interpretation, not everyone believes that or walks in these gifts. Some will even try to copy or buy them, some never heard of the baptism of fiire. It’s in there though
God deals with us as we often deal with children, parents know when the are ready, to crawl, walk or even school, dating driving, and more. The Holy Spirit does that, and He is in constant communication with the Father and Son, speaking their words and not His own, but are we?
And the Father chooses when Jesus is to return. He has been patient and merciful, and we may not have noticed or understood, but the Spirit is not to be mocked or grieved. We do not want the flame in our souls to be extinguished by others or world events, He longs for you to pursue peace in Jesus as Lord. But He will never force His love, He’s waiting, but He will not wait forever and you can’t afford to wait to make that choice.
Come into agreement with believers or even slone, the Father, Son and Spirit agree. You are loved and He will save you fill you and put a loving fire in your heart.
The next time join hands in prayer or hope to have two or three in agreement, much less all in one accord, think about the Spirit, He testifies of the Father and Son and they all agree on answering prayers, how, when and where. Maybe, what yo though was a no, was a not now or you’re not ready. He chooses the time, just as He chose us.
I want you to look up the verses pertaining to the Spirit in John 15, 16. 1 Corinthians 12 and 13. Your homework is to find the verse that He testifies of all three, and remember He prays for us, in ways we don’t understand, Romans 8:26, these are His prayers but in agreement with Jesus and the Father, not His words but perfected by them.
