Rotterdam’s craft beer scene just got a major upgrade. Tucked away in the historic, industrial port area of Lloydkwartier, Rick Wijers and his partner Iris Visser have transformed a former wine bar into a vibrant new taproom for local and visiting beer enthusiasts.
Rick is a familiar face in the beer world, best known for running the importing and wholesale business Beer Trading Company (formerly Hop Shop). With this new taproom, he and Iris have created a warm, welcoming haven designed to showcase the standout craft beers imported from across Europe, North America, and South America.
What’s on tap? There are 16 taps, featuring three core house beers (Pils, Blonde, and Weizen), one dedicated rotation tap for local Rotterdam breweries, and 12 rotating lines featuring top international names like Pulfer, Mogwai, Le Malpolon, Track and Metalhead Brewery. Not a beer drinker? No worries, there are other drinks available.
Cellar & fridge selection: Packed with rare finds, vintage bottles, and special releases for hardcore collectors and adventurous drinkers. Check out the full selection via the Untappd link below.
Since opening, Lloyd’s Taproom has quickly become a destination for curious drinkers and dedicated beer geeks from across the Netherlands. In just three short months, they’ve already hosted two bottle shares and multiple tap takeovers – with plenty more events on the horizon. It’s a fantastic, energetic addition to Rotterdam Bierstad. Be sure to drop by next time you’re in 010!
