3 Keys Leaders Often Miss

Committed Teams vs Compliant Teams

There’s a lot of focus these days around how to improve team productivity despite the ongoing uncertainty. And yet, there’s a key piece to driving organizational success that’s getting overlooked in this pursuit for greater productivity.

And it comes down to answering a simple, but critical question – are your employees part of a committed team, or a compliant one?

It’s a critical question leaders should be asking because on the surface, the two look virtually identical.

Employees attend meetings, project deadlines are being met, and tasks get completed.

And yet, upon examination, it’s clear that employees are simply going through the motions, doing what’s asked of them and nothing more.

Invariably, when leaders realize what’s going on, they try to come up with various incentives to inspire people to action and reignite employee motivation. And if you’ve ever tried such measures, you know how well that goes.

That’s why in this latest edition of my Leadership Espresso Shot series, I wanted to share three powerful lessons we can learn from a sociological experiment about how you can foster team success.

And the best part is each of them are lessons you can start applying as soon as you finish listening to this episode.
