Dozi Turns Up The Heat With Smooth Afro-Fusion Cut ‘SLOW’

Nigerian Afrobeats rising star Dozi makes a smooth introduction with ‘SLOW’, an Afro-fusion record that leans into attraction, romance, and undeniable chemistry.

Born and raised in Lagos with roots in Imo State, Njoku Gregory, popularly known as Dozi, has been drawn to music from an early age.

He started out miming songs and studying the performances of icons such as Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, and Wande Coal before finding his own voice as a songwriter and recording artist.

With influences spanning Afrobeats, Afropop, Highlife, and Afro-Caribbean sounds, Dozi describes his musical identity as “Unlock Music” a subgenre under Afrobeats that represents a personal cry for freedom.

That idea of freedom feeds into his desire to create music that feels expressive, rhythmic, and connected to African culture while reaching audiences beyond the continent.

On ‘SLOW’, Dozi keeps things intimate.

Built around a smooth 105 BPM groove, melodic vocals, and an addictive Afro-fusion bounce, the track captures the rush that comes with intense attraction.

Rather than rushing the moment, Dozi lets the groove breathe, creating a laid-back atmosphere where romance and obsession meet.

‘SLOW’ gives Dozi room to introduce his sound with confidence, pairing a relaxed rhythm with an energy designed to keep listeners moving.

It is a warm, sensual entry point into the world he is building one where Afrobeats meets freedom, feeling, and undeniable groove.
