Miley drops tenth studio album “Bass Persuades” – Texx and the City

Miley has released her highly anticipated tenth studio album, Bass Persuades, via Atlantic Records, marking a new chapter for the global pop star, who has dropped “Cyrus” from her stage name and now goes simply by Miley. The 10-track album features collaborations with Model/Actriz on “Different Religion” and Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow on “Neon Signs”, alongside production from longtime collaborators including Kid Harpoon and Maxx Morando.

Johannesburg got an early taste of the new era, with Warner Music Africa hosting an intimate first-listening session at the Roger Ballen Centre for Photography in Forest Town ahead of the album’s global release. Media, partners, fans and local culture-shapers gathered to hear all 10 tracks together, with “Bass Persuades” and “Let’s Get Married” quickly emerging as talking points. Among those in attendance were television personalities Chanley Wong and Lee-Roy Wright, DJ and model Ponahalo Mojapelo, radio personalities Mike Vee, Thabile TTO and Joy Fakude, alongside digital creators and fans.

The album arrives following the success of its title track, which became the #1 Most Added Overall Song at US radio and debuted at #1 on the US Spotify Top Songs chart and #2 globally. “Let’s Get Married” also arrives with an official video directed by Mert Alas and filmed at the Chateau Marmont, featuring Miley’s fiancé Maxx Morando. The album’s next stop is Los Angeles, where Miley will play two sold-out shows at the Hollywood Bowl on October 16 and 18, following a pre-sale that saw nearly 1.5 million fans join the ticket queue. Bass Persuades is out now.
