HALFTRIBE – DISAPPEAR IN SILENT WAYS
On the opening tracks, ‘Listen’, Ryan ‘Halftribe’ Bissett (Manchester, UK) reminds us to ‘pay close attention to what you hear’. That is not too difficult, because the 11 tracks that follow are all detailed sound paintings that are as beautiful and refreshing as the cover image.
All of these are short tracks, ‘vignettes’ perhaps, around 3-4 minutes. Each has a different atmosphere but all of these feel related to nature
Disappear In Silent Ways is the fourth Halftribe album on the Dronarivm label (after Elegant, Golden (2022), Backwater Revisited (2019), and For The Summer, Or Forever (2018)), but Bissett has also released work on other labels like Shimmering Moods, Hidden Vibes, and others.
As before, not many words are spent describing Halftribe‘s music: there are no liner notes. They are not needed: the cover tells enough about what you can expect: weightless soundscapes with embedded field recordings, and a definitely positive atmosphere.
Disappear In Silent Ways is released on CD as well as on 12″ vinyl – only a few of these were still available at the time of writing.
