The annual Sunset Travel Awards recognize standout destinations, experiences, accommodations, and organizations throughout the West. This year, our Channel Islands sea cave kayaking experience was recognized among the best adventures on the water.

Just off the Santa Barbara coast, Channel Islands National Park protects one of California’s most remarkable coastal environments. For more than 25 years, Santa Barbara Adventure Company has helped guests experience these islands from a unique perspective: from the seat of a kayak.
Our guided sea cave kayaking adventures at Santa Cruz Island take guests along a rugged volcanic coastline, where they can paddle through sea caves, explore kelp forests, and experience the wildlife and natural beauty of the Channel Islands up close.
No previous kayaking experience is necessary for many of our tours. Our guides provide instruction and equipment while sharing their knowledge of the islands’ natural and cultural history along the way.
