The GO! Volunteer Expo 2026 – iVolunteer Philippine

QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES — July 25–26, 2026 — Following its successful regional launch in Davao City last June, iVolunteer Philippines brought the energy, passion, and fun of volunteerism to Metro Manila for the GO! Volunteer Expo 2026, held at the SM City North EDSA Annex Event Center.

Organized by iVolunteer Philippines in celebration of the United Nations International Year of Volunteers (IYV 2026) and co-presented in partnership with SM Cares, the two-day gathering brought together non-profit organizations, volunteer leaders, and advocacy champions under one roof. At its core was a single, unifying vision: making volunteering accessible so every everyday Filipino can become a hero in building a better nation.

Sometimes, the idea of nation-building feels too big for one person to tackle. But as iVolunteer Executive Director Judith Apolinario-Follero emphasized, the secret lies in keeping it simple: “We have to make volunteering accessible for everyone.”

This sentiment was reinforced by Jay Estarez, Director for Community Relations at iVolunteer Philippines, who highlighted the long-term impact of community participation, “We sincerely believe sa power and impact ng volunteerism. And through volunteerism, we can help in nation-building and we can create a better Philippines for all of us.”

The expo didn’t just talk about volunteering; it let people experience it. Private and public sectors leaders and also community builders alike felt the palpable energy in the room. Addressing the audience, Chad Caluyo, Senior Assistant Vice President for SM Supermalls, shared SM’s commitment that “no one is left behind and that we need to work together to empower more communities.” Patrick John Reyes, Chief Administrative Officer of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), praised the community’s dedication, pointing out that: “Volunteers are the bridge that keeps moving when roads are blocked and communities are difficult to reach. You are proof that bayanihan is alive. You bring Filipinos together.”

Around 18,000 visitors filled the Annex Event Center across the weekend. There was a beautiful mix in the crowd—from those who had eagerly planned their visit after discovering the event online, to curious mall-goers drawn in by the vibrant festivities. Despite the heavy downpours, attendees braved the storm to be there, with a good number traveling from far areas just to celebrate. Seeing this diverse crowd of students, professionals, and even senior citizens showcased a deep dedication and genuine belief in coming together to be part of a greater cause.

Together, the attendees took part in dynamic workshops, meaningful discussions, and interactive booth challenges that brought different advocacies to life:
● NGO Talks: Beyond the interactive games, attendees gathered to listen to invited NGO partners as they took the stage to share their stories, shedding light on their respective advocacies, who they are, and the on-the-ground work they do.
● NGO Bingo & Booth Discovery: Visitors explored partner booths, engaging directly with community leaders. Those who completed at least five booth visits and stamped their NGO Bingo card took home special event freebies.
● Morning Skill-Building Workshops: Creative and physical morning sessions kept energy high, featuring Macramé crochet, Rubik’s cube solving, and an interactive volleyball clinic.
● 5-Station Advocacy Challenge: Attendees tackled five hands-on activities designed to test their physical abilities, raise empathy, and build understanding—including stationary cycling, weight lifting that simulates pregnancy, advocacy word searches, Braille reading challenge, and commemorative photo opportunities at the iVolunteer frame. Finishers of all five challenges earned raffle entries for exclusive prizes.

To help attendees easily match their skills and interests with direct social causes, the participating non-profit organizations were showcased across four development pillars:
● People: 2KK Tulong sa Kapwa Kapatid Foundation Inc., AJ Kalinga Foundation, Binhi English Literacy Foundation, CHILDHOPE PHILIPPINES FOUNDATION, INC., Karinderia ni Mang Urot, Project PEARLS, Safe Space Community, The Storytelling Project, and We Lift Club.
● Planet: Animal Empathy Philippines and Animal Kingdom Foundation Inc.
● Prosperity: Create Foundation and Kapwa Kolektive, Inc.
● Partnerships: National Youth Volunteers Coalition, Spike and Serve Philippines Inc., and World Vision Development Foundation, Inc.

Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, a lively lineup of guest performers—including Franz E, UDS, Melissa Corpus, Cedric Cabanes, One Mix Volume, Aljun Cruz, Raven Acedera, MELO, AbZtract, AJ Rogero, VIEN, Daku, Amon, and Alamat ni UG—entertained the crowd and made sure the energy remained electric all day.

Meaningful change, as PNVSCA Executive Director Donald James Gawe noted, happens when volunteerism is properly harnessed as a true strategy for development. But at its core, it simply starts with everyday citizens choosing to show up.

Closing out the unforgettable weekend, iVolunteer Philippines Founder JB Tan left the crowd with a powerful reminder of their own potential: “Wag po tayong mawalan ng pag-asa, tayo po sana ang maging pag-asa para sa ibang tao. Kami sa iVolunteer Philippines, naniniwala po kami na ang bawat Pilipino ay pwedeng maging bayani.”
