Trump Cannot Let That Happen

Perhaps it is fitting that where I am living now, clouds of smoke pollute the air and darken an otherwise perfect summer. We have only 10 weeks before the US midterm elections. Despite redistricting to favor the GOP, the polls and history predict a Democrat takeover of Senate and/or House.

Trump cannot let that happen.

Now, malignant narcissists with more than a few psychopathic traits, when cornered, do not concede or admit defeat (gracefully or otherwise), nor do they commit suicide. But they are known to burn the house down and all within it.

I fear the best outcome for the midterms will be a narrow GOP victory, and then America can continue on its slow path of self destruction, its slow path to fascism, its slow path to being a pariah state, allowing Canada and other democratically evolved nations enough time to shape a new “world order”.

The other possibilities are frightening.

They include corrupting the elections by various means, seizing ballot boxes, denying results, and/or creating a war time emergency to block or halt the voting and counting.
And that could entail a false flag terrorist act, and/or the nuclear option.
Actual use of a nuclear weapon.

Many years ago when the Russians sent ships with missiles to Cuba and the US set up a blockade, I was attending the University of Victoria. As the moment of truth approached I decided that this possibly being the last day before nuclear war, I should not spend it in a classroom. Instead I stayed on the grounds sitting under a tree, watching the squirrels and the birds and the cumulous clouds floating in from over the ocean.

And Kruschev blinked.

But I suspect he was not as Narcissistic as Trump.
