The old Luggage Store Gallery on Market Street in San Francisco is long gone, and along with it the great hallway entrance that was festooned with graffiti. I walked up and, later, down that staircase many times to attend concerts. I can’t go back, but every once in a while one of the many pictures I took of the staircase pops up on my television as a screensaver, and I can bask in its haphazard communal ornamentation, and think of all of the shows I attended there.
