Honor WIN 2 series may use 7-inch quad-curved display panels

Honor WIN 2 series is in the making and the flagship gaming lineup will probably sport a 7-inch quad-curved display panel. If true, it would be a significant upgrade over the previous-generation gaming models, which come with flat screens.

According to SmartPikachu, Honor is testing two 7-inch large display panels for the WIN 2 series. In addition to big screens, the company is re-evaluating an equal-depth quad-curved design for the upcoming gaming smartphone lineup.

For comparison, the WIN series models debuted last year with 6.83-inch AMOLED screens featuring 1.5K resolution, a 185Hz refresh rate, a 5920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and a peak brightness of 6000 nits.

The key highlight of the Honor WIN series is that it lands on the ground with a flat screen. Inputs suggest that the company used such a panel to optimize the devices for high-performance mobile gaming.

A flat display usually eliminates accidental palm touches, reduces visual distortion at the edges, and allows for better tactile precision + more accuracy during intense gaming.

But it seems the Chinese tech giant is now testing an equal-depth quad-curved screen for the WIN 2 series. This solution has its own benefits as it maximizes visual immersion and reduces side bezels for an edge-to-edge look + offers a more organic grip.

Of course, a curved screen has certain drawbacks. Though Honor may address them with the upcoming gaming smartphone lineup. Notably, the new-gen WIN phones may feature bigger and more advanced display solutions than their predecessors.
