Hey there, fellow audio enthusiasts! Today, we’re diving deep into the world of wireless earbuds with a comprehensive review of the TOZO NC9 2024. As someone who’s been through more earbuds than I care to admit, I was pretty excited to get my hands on these little guys. So, grab a cup of coffee, and let’s explore what makes these earbuds tick!

Who is TOZO?

TOZO might not be a household name like Sony or Bose, but they’ve been making waves in the audio world with their budget-friendly yet feature-packed offerings. The NC9 2024 is their latest attempt to shake up the wireless earbud market, and boy, do they mean business!

Design and Build Quality

First Impressions

Right out of the box, the TOZO NC9 2024 earbuds scream quality. The matte black finish (though there are other color options available) gives them a premium look that wouldn’t be out of place next to earbuds costing twice as much.

The Earbuds

Holding the earbuds in my hand, I was impressed by how lightweight they felt without seeming cheap. The build quality is solid, with no creaks or loose parts. TOZO has gone for a stem-less design, which I personally prefer as it gives a more discreet look when worn.

The Charging Case

The charging case is a work of art in itself. It’s compact enough to slip into your pocket without creating an unsightly bulge, yet sturdy enough to protect your precious earbuds. The LED display on the front is a game-changer – no more guessing how much battery you have left!

Waterproof Rating

One feature that really stands out is the IPX8 waterproof rating. This isn’t just splash-resistant; we’re talking full-on waterproof. I’ve taken these for a run in the rain and even accidentally dropped them in a puddle (oops!), and they came out working perfectly.

Sound Quality

The Tech Behind the Tunes

The TOZO NC9 2024 comes equipped with 10mm drivers and something called OrigX Acoustic 2.0 technology. Now, I’m not an audio engineer, but I can tell you what this means for your listening experience.

Bass Performance

If you’re a bass head, you’re going to love these. The low-end is deep and punchy, perfect for those hip-hop tracks or EDM bangers. But here’s the kicker – it doesn’t overpower the rest of the music.

Midrange and Highs

The midrange is where vocals and most instruments sit, and the NC9 2024 doesn’t disappoint here either. Adele’s powerful vocals in “Someone Like You” came through crystal clear, with all the emotion intact. As for the highs, they’re crisp without being harsh.

Sound Signature

What impressed me most about the sound signature is its versatility. Whether I was listening to jazz, rock, pop, or podcasts, everything sounded great. It’s a well-balanced sound that should please most listeners.

Here’s a quick breakdown of how the NC9 2024 performs across different genres:

The TOZO NC9 2024 comes with hybrid ANC technology that promises to reduce noise by up to 45dB. But does it deliver?

Real-World Performance

I tested these earbuds in various environments – a busy coffee shop, on a train, and even next to a noisy air conditioner. The results? Pretty darn impressive. In the coffee shop, the constant chatter and clanking of cups faded into the background. On the train, the rumble of the tracks was significantly reduced.

Transparent Mode

One feature I really appreciate is the transparent mode. With a quick tap, you can let in ambient sound, which is great for when you need to be aware of your surroundings or have a quick conversation without removing your earbuds.

Call Quality

3-Microphone System

The TOZO NC9 2024 comes equipped with a 3-microphone system and Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) technology. Sounds impressive, but how does it perform in the real world?

Voice Clarity

I made several calls using these earbuds, and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. My voice came through clear and natural, even when I was walking down a busy street.

Background Noise Reduction

The ENC technology really shines when it comes to reducing background noise during calls. I deliberately made a call while standing next to a noisy air conditioner, and the person I was talking to could barely hear it.

Video Call Performance

With remote work becoming more common, I also tested these on video calls. Whether it was Zoom, Skype, or Google Meet, the NC9 2024 performed admirably.

Battery Life and Charging

Single-Use Playtime

TOZO claims these earbuds can last up to 14 hours on a single charge with ANC off, or 10 hours with ANC on. In my testing, these claims held up pretty well:

The charging case provides a total playtime of up to 59 hours with ANC off, or 42 hours with ANC on. In practice, I found I could get about 4 full charges from the case before needing to plug it in.

Quick Charging

A mere 10 minutes in the case gave me about 2 hours of playtime. Perfect for those times when you’re about to head out and realize your earbuds are dead!

LED Battery Indicator

The LED display on the charging case shows the remaining battery percentage for both the case and the earbuds. No more opening your phone app or guessing how much juice you have left!

Connectivity and Compatibility

Bluetooth 5.3

The TOZO NC9 2024 uses Bluetooth 5.3, the latest version of the technology. This means improved range and stability.

Pairing Process

Pairing these earbuds was a breeze. I simply opened the case, and they immediately showed up in my phone’s Bluetooth menu. From there, it was just one tap to connect.

Range and Stability

I could leave my phone in one room and walk to another without losing connection. Even through walls, the music kept playing without a hitch.

Multi-Device Connectivity

One area where the NC9 2024 falls a bit short is multi-device connectivity. While you can pair these earbuds with multiple devices, you can’t connect to two devices simultaneously.

TOZO App and Additional Features

User Interface

The TOZO app’s interface is clean and easy to navigate. Even if you’re not particularly tech-savvy, you’ll find your way around without any trouble.

EQ Options

One of the standout features is the 32 EQ options. Whether you prefer bass-heavy sound for your workouts or a more balanced profile for classical music, there’s an EQ preset for you.

Custom EQ Sharing

In a unique twist, TOZO allows you to share your custom EQ settings with other users. It’s like a social network for audiophiles!

Firmware Updates

The app also handles firmware updates for your earbuds. This means TOZO can potentially add new features or improve performance over time.

Comfort and Fit

Ergonomic Design

The earbuds are shaped to fit snugly in your ear canal. I wore these for several hours straight and almost forgot they were there.

Multiple Ear Tip Sizes

TOZO includes six different sizes of ear tips in the box. This is more than most competitors offer, and it ensures you can find the perfect fit for your ears.

Stability During Activities

I put these earbuds through their paces during workouts, runs, and even some light yoga. They stayed put without any issues.

Long-Term Wearing Comfort

For those long work-from-home days or extended travel, the NC9 2024 holds up well. I wore them for an 8-hour workday without significant discomfort.

Value for Money

Price Point Analysis

At its current price point (around $80-$100 depending on sales), the NC9 2024 offers a lot of features typically found in more expensive earbuds.

Comparison with Similar Products

Compared to other earbuds in this price range, the NC9 2024 holds its own and often surpasses the competition.

Overall Value Proposition

Considering the build quality, feature set, and performance, I’d say the TOZO NC9 2024 offers excellent value for money.

Conclusion: The Final Verdict

After weeks of testing, countless hours of music, podcasts, and calls, what’s the verdict on the TOZO NC9 2024 wireless earbuds?

In short, I’m impressed. These earbuds punch above their weight class in many areas. The sound quality is excellent, with a well-balanced profile that should please most listeners. The ANC performance, while not class-leading, is more than adequate for most environments. Battery life is stellar, and the comfort level means you can wear these all day without issue.

Are they perfect? No. The lack of multi-point connectivity might be a deal-breaker for some, and if you’re looking for the absolute best ANC performance, you might need to look at more expensive options.
