{"id":96693,"date":"2025-02-19T04:05:46","date_gmt":"2025-02-19T04:05:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/business\/real-estate\/cold-weather-home-buyer-seller-tips\/"},"modified":"2025-02-19T04:05:46","modified_gmt":"2025-02-19T04:05:46","slug":"cold-weather-home-buyer-seller-tips","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=96693","title":{"rendered":"Cold weather home buyer\/seller tips"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>It has been a couple of years since we have had a real Minnesota winter with double-digit below-zero temperatures and windchill in the -20 to -40 degree range so I thought I would post a refresher for cold weather home buyers and sellers.<\/p>\n<p>There aren\u2019t as many people out house hunting on bitterly cold winter days but those out are ready to buy today.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_18681\" class=\"thumbnail wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 1027px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stpaulrealestateblog.com\/images\/2019\/02\/ice.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[27445]\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18681\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stpaulrealestateblog.com\/images\/2019\/02\/ice.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1017\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stpaulrealestateblog.com\/images\/2019\/02\/ice.jpg 1017w, https:\/\/www.stpaulrealestateblog.com\/images\/2019\/02\/ice-500x258.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.stpaulrealestateblog.com\/images\/2019\/02\/ice-768x396.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1017px) 100vw, 1017px\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\">icicles<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are some winter tips for home sellers:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. \u00a0Leave some lights on so we can open the lock box and unlock the door.<\/p>\n<p>2. \u00a0Remove the snow and ice from the walkway. \u00a0Clearing the sidewalk makes it less likely that someone seeing your home will fall on their a$$ and sue yours off.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Place a walk-off mat near the front door big enough for four pairs of shoes. \u00a0This small act of kindness will keep my feet dry because I won\u2019t end up standing in a puddle made by my clients and it will keep your floor dry and your home cleaner.<\/p>\n<p>4. \u00a0If your home is vacant please have it winterized, that means that you have the water turned off.<\/p>\n<p>5. \u00a0Light is a good thing, especially in the winter. \u00a0You want to make it look warm and inviting. \u00a0 If you normally live like cave people with every blind drawn and every shade pulled consider making some changes so that your home will sell quicker and you will get more money for it.<\/p>\n<p>7. \u00a0If your home is occupied and you have a bunch of burglar alarms and maybe some barbed wire and a guard dog consider easing up on the red alert status. \u00a0(this has nothing to do with the weather . . I was on a roll)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are some tips for home buyers:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. \u00a0Wear shoes or boots that are easy to slip on and off.<\/p>\n<p>2. \u00a0Go to the restroom before you begin house hunting. \u00a0Homes that are winterized have no running water.<\/p>\n<p>3. \u00a0If you are interested in a home that you saw in the dark please schedule an appointment to see it when it is light out before you make an offer.<\/p>\n<p>4. \u00a0Flashlights can be handy when touring houses.<\/p>\n<p>5.
