February 13, 2025 by Displate Editorial in Pop Culture

When Arcane hit our screens back in November of 2021, it rapidly became one of the biggest Netflix shows of the year. Somewhat an overnight sensation, Arcane brought the lore of League of Legends to the general public’s hearts and minds in a high-action, strong-soundtracked series that had people glued to their TVs.

Winning four Emmy awards and nine Annie awards (yes, you read that right), the battles of Vi and Jinx have made a huge comeback, with even more conflict, in a second series — the trailer for which you can watch here.

In this blog, we’ll take you through what you can expect from the second installment of this high-adrenaline series. Ready to get jinxed?

Been a while since you binge-watched Season 1? Understandable, it did come out three years ago, after all. Allow us to refresh your memory with a whistle-stop tour of what went down:

Season 2 picks up right where it left off at the end of Season 1 — the pressure cooker tension has just begun to boil over (when Jinx launched a stone Hextech crystal at the Piltover council). So, to say that Season 2 is explosive in nature is an understatement.

Finally, fans are being given direct conflict between the two cities and the characters we know and love are unleashing their dark sides, ready for us to explore in chilling detail.

That being said, Season 2 has even more scope than Season 1 to explore one of Arcane’s most central themes: choice and its consequences. Powder made a choice to become Jinx and now she must reckon with that choice in battle. In focus will be the relationship between the two sisters as Vi desperately tries to stop Jinx from leading a revolution. From identity and trauma to conflict resolution and self-recognition, Arcane has been far from light in its subject material so far, and Season 2 won’t be either.

But, what else does Season 2 have in store for us?

Season 1 ended on a huge cliffhanger — this much is true. Jinx launches the Hextech crystal at Piltover council and, well, it explodes. So, who will emerge from the rubble and pick up the pieces in Season 2?

Below are the voices for Season 2 for key characters:

Lastly, let’s not close ourselves to the possibility of new faces making an appearance — or at least some surprise encounters. While Season 2 is technically a finale, League of Legends is utterly vast and has plenty of champions and so much lore which could be brought into Arcane to embellish it further.

If you weren’t aware of the Arcane docuseries, firstly: have you been living under a rock? Secondly, now’s your chance to fill the void and bridge the gap between the series with a five-part story — come on, it’s literally called ‘Arcane: Bridging the Rift’.

In this YouTube-based docuseries, fans can enjoy 5 installments (ranging between 20 and 30 minutes each) that give essential extra face time to some of Arcane’s most-loved characters. And, you’re in luck, because we’ve linked them all below for you lovely lot.

Here at Displate, we all belong to various fandoms — from Halo to Skyrim, so we understand the heartache that comes with a new season finishing

Looking for a cure for said heartache?
